An option designed for people who not only want to sit in peace in nearby bars, have a good drink, listen to live music and soak up the atmosphere of the city, but also visit the interiors of Havana’s most important monuments and learn the secrets of making Cuban rum and cigars.

Information

Day 1

After breakfast, departure from Varadero towards Havana with a stop at the Bacunayagua viewpoint. Meeting with a guide at the El Morro fortress with a magnificent panorama of the city, then a visit to the cigar factory. Then we will check into a casa particular and take a walk through the Obispo street and places associated with Ernest Hemingway (El Floridita bar and Ambos Mundos hotel). After lunch at a local restaurant, we will take a walk around Habana Vieja (old town): Cathedral Square, Arms Square – the founding point of Havana, with the oldest fortress in the city and the Governor’s Palace, Old Square with beautiful colonial architecture and a small brewery (time for a beer or coffee). Then there will be a salsa lesson with Cuban partners near St. Francis’s Square. Return to your accommodation and the evening at your own disposal. The program can be supplemented with a dinner with a concert of Buena Vista Social Club or dinner and a show at the famous Tropicana cabaret (extra fee, transport not included).

Day 2

After breakfast, check-out, we meet with a guide and walk towards Central Park, where we will see the Grand Theatre and the oldest hotels on the island and visit the interior of the Capitol – a monumental building created as the seat of the Cuban parliament. Then a coco-taxi will take us for a small rum tasting with an explanation of the rum production process. A ride in an American convertible: Revolution Square, the historic Columbus Cemetery and the exclusive Miramar district with its Fifth Avenue full of embassies. Then the Malecón – the seaside boulevard that is the showcase of Havana and a meeting place for its residents, will lead us to the legendary Nacional Hotel, visited by celebrities, where we will have a drink. In the afternoon, lunch at a local restaurant and time to buy souvenirs at the Mercado de San José and set off on the way back to Varadero.

Comments

the order of the itinerary may change depending on the availability of accommodation and opening days / hours of the facilities visited. Cigar factories in Cuba are closed on weekends and from 25/12 – 15/01 and from 23/07 – 19/08. Children are not allowed to visit the factory. In such situations, another attraction agreed with the Customers is carried out. The price of the trip includes TU Europa Travel World Standard Plus travel insurance.
