Tropicana cabaret

The most famous of Havana’s cabarets, founded in 1939 in the tropical garden surrounding Villa Mina. It gained its greatest fame when it was managed by the Cuban entrepreneur Victor de Correa, who combined a cabaret with a casino and a bar. The place was very popular with politicians, mafiosi, Hollywood artists and American sailors. Stars such as Joséphine Baker, Bola de Nieve, Elena Burke, Cheo Feliciano, Nat King Cole, Rita Montaner, Celia Cruz, Omara Portuondo and Frank Sinatra performed here.

In 1950, Max Borges Jr. designed a new, covered part, called Los Arcos de Cristal (Glass Arches), thanks to which performances can also take place on rainy days. Both parts can accommodate a total of about 1700 people. Tropicana, also known as “Paradise under the stars”, has 2 stages, space for tables and several dance floors. During this spectacular show, there are about 12 singers, 70 scantily clad female-dancers and handsome dancers in colorful costumes, 45 actors, 6 acrobats, a 40-person orchestra, a folkloric group consisting of 9 musicians and a 14-person choir. It is a world-famous artistic performance, a combination of ballet with circus art, carnival, boleros, Cuban music, rhythms, dances and folklore.

It is possible to purchase dinner during the show (bread, appetizer, main course with side dishes, dessert, 1 drink), and after the show there is a dance party and interaction between the audience and the artists (animators, dancers and musicians).

the show is intended for people over 18 years of age. Men are required to wear long trousers. If you choose the dinner option, it is recommended to arrive at around 20.30. The show starts at 22.00.
